چکیده
Abstract One of the challenges climate change in most coastal regions world is sea-level rise. This serious consequence as zone plays host to a large human population, abundant natural resources, and several ecosystem services. To alleviate effect change, proper planning area necessary enhance process adaptation. study attempts project an estimate rate rise along coastline Lagos, Nigeria various time slices, i.e., 2025, 2050, 2075, 2100 for all 4 RCP scenarios, recommended by IPCC using simCLIM model. The result obtained shows median projected values range from 11.86 cm 49.22cm 2.6; 11.73 58.91 4.5; 11.28 62.28 6.0; 11.92 84.25 8.0 respectively. Based on results projections this study, advisable provide means adaptation inhabitants lack could lead avoidable losses.

Sea level history of the northern Gulf of Mexico coast and sea level rise scenarios for the near future
The sea level history of the northern Gulf of Mexico during recent geologic time has closely followed global eustatic sea level change. Regional effects due to tectonics and glacio-isostasy have been minimal. Over the past several million years the northern Gulf coast, like most stable coastal regions of the globe, has experienced major swings of sea level below and above present level, accompa...
متن کاملEmulating Atlantic overturning strength for low emission scenarios: consequences for sea-level rise along the North American east coast
In order to provide probabilistic projections of the future evolution of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), we calibrated a simple Stommeltype box model to emulate the output of fully coupled threedimensional atmosphere-ocean general circulation models (AOGCMs) of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP). Based on this calibration to idealised global warming scenari...

متن کاملA geological perspective on sea-level rise and its impacts along the U.S. mid-Atlantic coast
We evaluate paleo-, historical, and future sea-level rise along the U.S. mid-Atlantic coast. The rate of relative sea-level rise in New Jersey decreased from 3.5± 1.0mm/yr at 7.5–6.5 ka, to 2.2± 0.8mm/yr at 5.5–4.5 ka to a minimum of 0.9± 0.4mm/yr at 3.3–2.3 ka. Relative sea level rose at a rate of 1.6± 0.1mm/yr from 2.2 to 1.2 ka (750 Common Era [CE]) and 1.4± 0.1mm/yr from 800 to 1800 CE. Geo...
متن کاملComparison of Water Flows in Four European Lagoon Catchments under a Set of Future Climate Scenarios
Climate change is supposed to remarkably affect the water resources of coastal lagoons as they are highly vulnerable to changes occurring at their catchment and/or ocean or sea boundaries. Probable impacts of projected climate changes on catchment hydrology and freshwater input were assessed using the eco-hydrological model SWIM (Soil and Water Integrated Model) for the drainage areas of four E...
